Tryp By Wyndham Newark Downtown Hotel

This place was a great spot for family travel! We loved the spacious family room with a king and bunk beds. Plus, it's just a quick walk to the Prudential Center for events.

Decent sized room with exceptionally comfortable bed and smoke detectors for safety measures. A safe, central heating and an iron available. Very central location close to everything, delicious breakfast.

Fabulous and clean place with a friendly reception. Good dishes, central location. This hotel was in a secure area very close to Newark Penn Station and Whole Foods.

Location - perfect and nice close to a train to New York City. Again, walking distance to a nearly triangular park.

the coffee maker (off-brand) didn’t work. the happy hour was a perfect start to our evening (drinks were fantastic! ). the huge bathroom with a soothing shower was a highlight. spacious room with complimentary coffee and water was a nice touch.

A Mixed Experience with Room for Improvement

Our stay included a surprisingly dull dining experience. Although we enjoyed the proximity to local attractions, the lack of attentiveness from staff was disappointing. For families, asking for extra towels may take some patience. I'd recommend bringing your own if possible for convenience.

I stayed here 2 nights and I loved it.

Good hotel, good location, new and clean rooms, daily cleaning, large breakfast room, attentive staff.

No fridge in the room

The lounge area had a relaxed vibe. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The airport shuttle service was on time and worked well for my travel needs.

The staff was not friendly . The room had some maintenance issues that needed attention, like a chipped bathroom tile.

I loved my Queen Room-it was spacious and beautifully decorated, with bright colors that brought the space to life! The mini fridge and Keurig coffee maker were such thoughtful touches, perfect for recharging after exploring local events nearby. Plus, being so close to the train station made city-hopping easy!

The grilled salmon hit the spot, paired perfectly with local finds like Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. The hotel's lounge area vibe is chill, and the breakfast spread is a complete win-not just your average continental but a feast!

The sheets, though clean, could use a little more crispiness-fitted sheets didn't quite fit right! Oh, and those bathroom towels need a glow-up to ditch that dingy look.

The hotel's location is convenient for business, being close to key areas in Newark. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed, a large clean bathroom, and a work-friendly desk. The staff at the front desk was initially unhelpful, but a shuttle driver demonstrated exemplary hospitality .

The hotel's chic decor and bright common areas. Everything felt accessible, even for seniors like me.

More seating options in common areas would be helpful.
